2020 BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge

The 2020 event will be held February 10-12 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida! Race against the clock and your peers to complete industry tasks and emerge
victorious. Imagine winning $5,000 and bragging rights as the 2020 BICSI Installer of the Year!
All current BICSI Installers and Technicians are eligible to enter, and selected competitors will receive a complimentary registration to the
2020 BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition. Prizes for the Cabling Skills Challenge will be awarded and the grand champion will walk away with $5,000.

The 2020 BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge will include the following eight events:
- Event A: SCS Installation
- Event B: Copper Cable Terminations, Firestopping & Grounding & Bonding
- Event C: Fiber Termination & Fusion Splicing
- Event D: Cable Assembly
- Event E: Cable Troubleshooting/Technical Support
- Event F: Fiber Link Testing
- Event G: Professionalism/Orientation
- Event H: Competency Exam
Special "Speed" Challenge Events: Including fusion splicing, 50-pair punch down, cable routing and many others.
Challenge competitors will be selected based on qualifying criteria such as professionalism, quality of resume and work experience. An attempt will be made to equally represent all regions.
In order to participate, the BICSI Installer 1; Installer 2; Installer 2, Copper; Installer 2, Optical Fiber; or Technician must secure approval and sponsorship from their employer. The employer will be responsible for all travel costs, including transportation to and from the competition, meals and accommodations. All competitors will receive a full complimentary conference registration, sponsored by BICSI. Past judges and Cabling Skills Challenge Subcommittee members are not eligible to participate. Companies are encouraged to submit multiple applications. No more than one application will be selected per level, per company.
Each applicant must have a current BICSI Installer 1; Installer 2; Installer 2, Copper; Installer 2, Optical Fiber; or Technician certification at the time of application and, if selected as a competitor, at the time of the competition.

Cabling Skills "Speed" Challenge Sponsorships
Your company can also sponsor the Cabling Skills "Speed" Challenges! Get your products in front of the people who will use them! The 2019 BICSI Cabling Skills "Speed" Challenges will take place in conjunction with the Cabling Skills Challenge and within
the Cabling Skills arena.
BONUS! The Cabling Skills Challenge contestants, as well as any conference attendees who would like to participate, will use your products during the "Speed" Challenge you sponsor. You choose the
type of challenge that will best showcase your products and your company!
