BICSI Enters into Agreement with AT TOKYO for Translation of Data Center Standards

Tampa, Florida, 15 November 2018—BICSI, the association advancing the information and communications technology (ICT) community has partnered with data center service provider and BICSI Corporate Member AT TOKYO to translate two soon-to-be-released data center standards:

  • ANSI/BICSI 002-2019, Data Center Design and Implementation Best Practices
  • ANSI/BICSI 009-2019, Data Center Operations

Data center construction and expansion is predicted to continue steadily worldwide. With the increasing focus on reliability and efficiency, the initial design is more important than ever. Thus, professionals within data center design are required to have knowledge of mechanical, electrical and telecommunications systems and how they support the network and network equipment in the data center's core.

An update to BICSI’s current international best-selling standard, ANSI/BICSI 002 sets forth requirements, recommendations and additional information that should be considered when working with critical systems, like the electrical, mechanical, and telecommunication networks, as well as other significant needs, such as site selection, security, and building needs.

ANSI/BICSI 009 will provide insight on data center operations to keep in mind while designing and updating current data center design specifications.

This agreement will help local data center professionals in Japan understand how to design, install and maintain efficient, future-ready data centers, by providing a well-versed translation in their native language.

“This business alliance is a key milestone for BICSI—especially the BICSI Japan District,” said BICSI Japan District Chair Katsuji Furuichi. “Translating the data center standards into Japanese will help to enhance the quality of work that data center providers give to their customers and help to drive a common agenda.”

“BICSI is committed to improving the quality of the services that we provide to ICT professionals around the world,” said BICSI President Jeff Beavers, RCDD, OSP, CFHP. “The opportunity to offer translations of BICSI publications, such as BICSI 002 and 009, helps to meet our customers' needs while expanding our global reach.”
